The Founding Director and the organizing team of the Biennale of Santorini have the great pleasure to announce the inaugural Santorini Biennale of Arts, taking place on the island between 01 July 2012 to 30 Sept 2012. The Biennale is the idea of artist, designer and economist Kikos Papadopoulos; supported by the Municipality of Thera, the Estia Association of Pyrgos and the Museum of Pyrgos, further sponsoring private art foundations will shortly be announced.

Hagackure, created an produced by Giuseppe Pisasale, is an Italian project that was defined like one of the most provocateur and innovative artistic project of the last years: banned in many countries, attacked or loved by psychiatrics, informatics, and, first of all, art critics of more than 25 different countries.
In order to analyze the most internal and distressing human frustrations, Hagackure introduces an unique and innovative artistic language that entwines illegal and operative Hacker Attack codes with instinctive and subliminal signals (with great psychological impact), realized with the emerging and promising painter Antonio Latina.
The name Hagackure is a joining of two terms, each one creates the basis of our research path: hagakure and hacker. These two words represent two parallel worlds or two different types of warriors that, in spite of their different external manifestations, fight to give birth to the same mental provocations.

Giuseppe Pisasale was born in Syracuse (Italy) in August 1976. He lives in Ferla, a Sicilian hamlet of just 2600 souls. Since his childhood he shows an outstanding computer- mathematic talent, so his father enrolled him at the age of 10 in a programming course. Thereafter continues his passion for computers. He attended high school in Syracuse, in the meantime he worked giving private lessons and providing technical computer support. After a stint as a white hat hacker, at the age of 24 he decides to invest his computer skills to facilitate the small areas affected by the “digital divide”, and with three other friends founded a computer company that will be rewarded for her social and information commitment byboth the Italian CAN and the Wireless Awards. At 26 he graduated with honors in Computer Science and a year later, thanks to a scholarship, completed a Master in Information Technology. After working at the university laboratories,he has been hired as DB Adiministrator by a multinational company, world leader in the production of electronic circuits. Since 2008 in the international art world Giuseppe Pisasale is known with the pseudonym Hagackure (the name derives from the union of Hagakure, the Japanese warrior, and hacker: two different worlds which struggle against the same mental frustrations ). The Project Hagackure presents for the first time ever a provocative style which want to undermine traditional art, and in a few years it has already been exhibited in major art capitals of the World, including New York, London, Paris, Moscow, Rome, etc..
In 2011 Giuseppe Pisasale won a literary prize in Italy with his first Fantasy novel : Macubia. The book is going to be published in Italy in May 2012 . The official website of the book is www.macubia.it.
Only child and very attached to his parents, Sebastiano and Lina, married to Rossana, Giuseppe loves also martial arts, the Rottweiler and is a fan of the Italian singer Vasco Rossi. His hobbies include reading, in particular Fantasy literature and comics, whose he is a great collector.

5th Water Homage . Villa de Leyva, Colombia – November 14-16, 2009

General Information.
Between 14 and 16 November 2009, Culturagua, will perform the V Water Homage in the Municipality of Villa de Leyva, Colombia. According to the Muisca mythology, in the Municipality of Villa de Leyva, Bachué goddess, the primordial mother and deity water, symbol of fertility and eroticism, emerged from the sacred lagoon of Iguaque with her child in arms and gave rise to humanity. Water for the cosmogony is the essential element for life, the great old one component of vital chemistry and the first creator of biodiversity. It is necessary to make a substantial change in production and consumption habits of the current civilization. “If it (the water) irrigates” with force, as the blood of the human being, there will be development and growth; but if it blurs or languishes, as with the patient lymph, will come desolation and death”. Using the science and aesthetics, the V Water Homage tries to form fresh minds and spirits of the youth and the community with the aim changing their attitudes to the use and the defense of their water resources. It also aims to empower them to face with information and fortitude to all those whose mode of production and life style devastate everything that it finds in its way. For those purposes, ecologists, environmentalists’, and researchers that have analyzed the problem will therefore hold conferences.

General Information.
The International Experimental Film Festival is dedicated exclusively to sustaining and promoting the experimental films.

We consider the experimental film to be one of the most interesting expression forms of contemporary art. The interest shown by the public who watched the films, apart from the festival, determined us to change the classical way of approaching an experimental film festival. We’ve therefore decided to change the regulations so that any kind of constrains will be avoided. That is why we eliminate the participation fee and the jury who chooses the winners. Most of the film critics, artists and common art consumers considered the viewing and the real perception of the artistic creation to be more important than establishing a classification based on prize awarding. The involvement of a jury in such a festival leads to a selection based on a subjective opinion and consequently to an artificial point of view, which influences the real perception of the event. Every experimental film has a justification only when it is not a subject of an official analyzes or any other preset value criteria. The Florean Museum’s experimental film collection is a reference point of the contemporary experimental film and is available to anyone who wants to study the phenomenon.

General Information.
11th Student and Short Film Festival Sleepwalkers is the only international short film festival in Estonia, bringing together the freshest student and professional films and ideas from around the world. Throughout eleven years, Sleepwalkers has been bringing together young filmmakers and audiences from Estonia and rest of the world. Film themes will probably remain the same until the end of the times – telling stories of love, death, agonies of life and relationships are close to heart for most young filmmakers at certain age. Yet these topics function as filters to the world surrounding us and go further through the most actual topics of our society. Nearly every film that has been selected to the competition programme, will somehow touch or hurt, make one laugh or feel as if a sudden punch to the stomach. A wish to say something through audiovisual form has been boldly poured together through kicks of personality, experience, feelings, subjectivity and capability to analyze.

Liquid Cities & Temporary Identities – Video Art & Architecture event
The Hague, The Netherlands – December 01-05, 2010

General Information.
The Streaming Festival is an art event for independent artists exhibiting unconventional audiovisual art from all over the world. This event takes place once a year.In addition to this, every month a video program is streamed on the festival website. These programs each have their own theme and concept and are composed by guest curators, programmers and festival partners.

Liquid Cities is an exciting show of video-art, a form of art which is also itself a kind of liquid architecture, very closed to the fluidity, transparency and vagueness of the inner life. Our post-literary age, already fascinated by the ‘liquid architecture in cyberspace’ (Marcos Novak), liquid identities and everyday liquid contacts between people, is focused on lightweight infrastructures in motion, the ‘musical’ structures of light, sound and colours, the ability to transform visual arts into urbanism shows or the real need to sense the reality as a fluid network of individuals, art and technology. Temporary Identities is a show of video-art works based on the concept of contemporary identities, new technologies and body borders. It focused on multiplicity and permanent changes, the pillars of our actual fuzzy world. In the hard core of our identity we may ”read” the text of the infinity.
